^ ^; I'm not convinced this isn't illegal in all kinds of ways but if you don't like being my influence and want me to take this down, I will.

*ahem* right. This was something I could do that didn't require a lot of brain matter. Kind of in the middle of getting into a new job. I'm still drawing, just not happy enough with any of it to upload it.

I noticed that a lot of people who submitted this list mostly shows or movies. Well, I can't say that television was a very big part of my influence since I grew up without cable or much money spent on entertainment in general (we had PBS, TBN and the news, that was it) so the few shows I did see weren't noteworthy enough for me to remember them. Well, except Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. But that was after I'd had my allegiance caught by the original books ;)

Onto the meme:

1. Colors and nature are a huge influence on me. I love colors. Art is no fun if I don't get to rape the rainbow.
2. Clothing and costume design, no matter what culture or time period, I'm fascinated. I think that one's pretty obvious.
3. Foreign places, cultures and languages, every National Geographic I could get my hands on as a child was like gold.
4. John Howe and Lord of the Rings, I don't know which one is a bigger influence - combined, they nearly completely dominate my work, which I'm sure you can see. Creepy ring wraiths, the way he drew cities, I was captivated and I wanted to be as good as him!
5. colors again! I love fabric for the same reason I love fashion design. Colors, patterns, textures, they all capture my imagination.
6. Sherlock Holmes. If this man were real... especially if he looked like Robert Downey Jr... I'd marry him. Annoying prick or not. I knew this from the time I was 10 - and Sir Conan Arthur Doyle was bloody brilliant, my biggest inspiring author second only to Tolkien (who changed my DNA).
7. ARCHITECTURE! Aside from fashion design and animals, mechanical drafting is my heart and soul. Gothic, Spanish-Islam, Romanesque, Baroque, gimme gimme gimme.
8. Cats and their antics.
9. Horses, their beautiful movement and gracefulness bordering on arrogance amazes me (I'm a klutz, myself).
10. Mythology! All mythology. Greek, Norse, Chinese, Japanese, Irish. Folktales, mystical beings, deities who might control our destinies, big player in what I do.
11. ....Ronin Warriors. This is a recent influence, anime didn't really enter my life til I was 16, 17 it stayed for good. Retarded, but highly entertaining show.
12. weaponry! Specifically, bladed weaponry. I couldn't tell you when this obsession started but I can say it baffled everyone around me, as I'd never had any influence towards it but from the time I was a little girl I wanted a knife and to learn sword fighting.
13. Music, Apocalyptica being pictured here. I was a musician and I have a deep appreciation for a good beat and a good voice. Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart and classical Spanish guitar long before rock, hard rock and metal entered my life :)

You didn't finish the descriptions!

Haha, you said rape. And, you said rainbow. It makes me think of lesbian rapists...

...how does that work, anyway?!
